Obituary for John Allen Patterson
John Allen Patterson, 69, of Peoria passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1948 in Butler, MO to John J. and Mary Helen Reynolds Patterson. He married Debra Weston July 22, 1996 in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his father; sons, John Stanley Patterson, David Byron Patterson; brother, Mark David Patterson and sister, Pamela Snyder. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Stan. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star with “V” Device, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Sharpshooter (Rifle). He worked as a truck driver for United Road, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Central Illinois Farm Heritage Tractor Club and Peoria Casting Club, he loved fishing. He enjoyed vacationing at Bull Shoals Lake near Mountain Home, Arkansas. Per his wishes cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on July 8th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Dunlap Prospect United Methodist Church 300 E Ash St. Dunlap
