Albert “Al” A. Juergens Jr., 76, of Pekin, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.
He was born March 5, 1948, in Peoria, IL to Albert A. and Doris (Sweetin) Juergens Sr.
He married Linda Thacker May 28, 1982, in Pekin; she preceded him in death October 1, 2005. His parents, sister and son, Sean Juergens, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Bradley (Christi) Juergens, Kimberly (Brad) Pitts; grandchildren, Zach (Courtney) Juergens, Austin Juergens, Lauren Juergens, Matthew Juergens, Miranda (Kevin) Phillips, Clayton Pitts, and Alexis Juergens; great-grandchildren, Malin Juergens, Emersyn Juergens, Michael Phillips and half-brother, Greg (Rose) Juergens.
He graduated from Manuel High School and attended University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky studying electrical engineering.
Al worked at AA Color TV as a technician from 1969-1971. He then worked as a Lefebure technician from 1971-1981. He founded SEICO in Peoria in 1972 incorporating the company in 1977. SEICO later moved to Pekin in 1985.
In Al’s adult years, he loved boating on the Illinois river and vacationing on scuba diving trips. He was a member of the Peoria and Pekin Amateur Radio Clubs. He loved communicating around the world using his Ham Radio.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Private family services will be held.
