Obituary for Alvado Tosi
Alvado Tosi 93, of Manito passed away on Thursday January 6, 2011 at Hopedale Hospital. Born in Pekin to Dominick and Eugenia Biordi Tosi on January 20, 1917. He married Sarah Ruark in Elko, NV on March 6, 1991. She survives along with his daughter Kay Tosi of Denver, CO, step-sons: Rick (Cathy) Ruark of Canton, Randy (Sherry) Wisenburg of Symsonia, KY, step-daughters: Cathy Pearson of Peoria, Carol (Jerry) Bilyou of Burns, OR, and his 10 grand and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Nelson, brothers: Lee and Marion Tosi and sisters: Norma Lawver and Alma Gianessi. Alvado served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and was a POW from 1944 to 1945 (9 months) in Germany. He worked as a Laborer at Corn Products for 25 years, retiring in 1980. Alvado was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held on Monday January 10, at 10 a.m. Father Jim Pankiewicz will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin with Military rite by the United States Army.
