Obituary for Andrew Gardner
Andrew R. Gardner 33, of Springfield formally of Pekin passed away Saturday October 16, 2010 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. He was born February 19, 1977 in Pekin to Stephen and Debra Johnson Gardner. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Henry Johnson, Charles and Ethel Gardner, Arthur Kunz, Sr. and Charles Utter. He is survived by his mother; Debra (Arthur) Kunz Jr. of Springfield, father; Stephen (Patricia) Gardner of Pekin, sister; Terri (Michael) Pogioli of Pekin, and 4 brothers; Arthur (Cathy) Kunz III of Murphysboro, IL, James Kunz of Columbia, MO, Jason (Amanda) Broughton of Pekin and Jon (Hayley) Broughton of Pahrump, NV. He is also survived by his grandparents; Carol (Don Erps) Johnson of Pekin, Margaret Kunz of Springfield, Georgia Utter of Pekin, nieces and nephews; Emiley, Katie, Anthony, Evan, Isabelle, Adin, Kera, Finlay, Miya, Elias, Madeline and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Andrew was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and a strong disability rights advocate. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 20, at 11am at Abts Mortuary in Pekin with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. A Visitation will be held Tuesday October 19, from 6 to 8pm at the Funeral Home.
