Obituary for Anne Catherine Berardi
Anne Catherine Berardi 85, of 2501 Allen Town Rd. Pekin formally of 2300 Court St. passed away on Friday May 9, 2008 at Hallmark House in Pekin. Born on May 18, 1922 in Pekin to John and Mary Poropat Puhal. She married Amerigo Berardi in Pekin on June 30, 1945, he preceded her in death on Dec 17, 1995 along with son Kevin, brother Jacob Puhal and sister Katherine Turk. Anne is survived by her sons; John A. (Barbara) of Peoria, Greg (Laura) of Coralville, IA, daughters Pat Berardi of Peoria, Deborah Berardi of Creve Coeur, sister Mary Cupi of Pekin and her 6 grand and 3 great grandchildren. She worked as a Table Lady at American Distillery/Corn Products. Anne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, its Council of Catholic Women, the 3rd Order of St. Francis, the Altar and Rosary Society where she was named mother of the year and the Ladies of Columbus. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday May 14, at 10 a.m. at her church. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be at Abts Mortuary on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7. Memorials may be made to her Church or Guardian Angel Home main west campus, 2900 W. Heading Ave, West Peoria 61604. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
