Barbara A. Monroe, 92, of Metamora, IL passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at The Village at Farmington.
She was born on March 3, 1934, in Columbia, MO to Godfrey and Ruth Valentine Hickam.
Barbara married Ralph S. Monroe Jr.; he preceded her in death January 19, 2022. Her daughter, Naomi Monroe; parents and six siblings also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Wynona (Jim) Foster, Ralph (Robin) Monroe III, Lavonda (Arthur) Vigue, Barney (Mary) Monroe; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and sister, Linda (Harvey) Maupin.
Barbara was a member of Bible Church. She loved her children and family. She also loved the Lord and music.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Dunlap, IL. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate.
