Obituary for Betty Lemon
Betty Doris Lemon 87, of Pekin passed away Saturday February 12, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born March 27, 1923 to James and Ada Suddeth Smith in Beardstown, IL. She married William Lemon September 23, 1939 in Iowa. He preceded her in death June 7, 1988. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Veda Stark, Zeda Perrilles, Marcella Bowman, Inez Morgan, Dorene Woodworth, brother; Louis Smith, and granddaughters; Betty Schmidt and Tracey Vogel. She is survived by her daughter; Lee Ann (Lester) Vogel of Morton, son; William Lemon of Pekin, grandchildren; Vicki (Herb) Copeland, Troy (Teresa) Lemon, Pam (Kenneth) Bee, Ashley Lemon, great-grandchildren; Jason (Carrie) Vogel, Jamie (Jason) Sarnes, Matthew Fryman, Kirsten Schmidt, great-great-grandchildren; Keign Follis, Addyson Sarnes, Tyler Bee, Kenny Bee, Holly Bee, Christopher Lemon, Clair Lemon and Grayce Didonato. She is also survived by her sisters; Rosalie Wubker, Joan Starke, Delores Walters, and brothers; Richard Smith, James Smith and Tommy Smith. A graveside service will be held Thursday February 17, 2011 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin at 11 am.
