Betty Mardell Carlson, age 90, of East Peoria passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
Mardy was born on May 8, 1926, in Princeville, IL, to Lloyd and Martha (White) Miller. She married Donald E. Carlson on September 29, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Also, preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter Sherry (Ray) Rodgers of Hanna City, IL and son Craig (Sherry) Carlson of Cape Coral, FL; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with number six to be born soon.
Mardy retired from K-Mart in 1987. She enjoyed her church, Sunnyland Christian Church, her Diet Club and friends at Leisure Acres. She liked to walk, read and do crossword puzzles. There will be a memorial service at Sunnyland Christian Church on March 16, 2017 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sunnyland Christian Church, 2401 Washington Road, Washington, IL 61571.
