Obituary for Billy Rawson Sr.
Billy Lee “Bill” Rawson Sr., 76, of Canton passed away at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Bill was born in Pomona, IL on May 19, 1939 to Oscar and Mildred Childers Rawson. He married the love of his life Nancy Stubblefield on December 27, 1958; she survives. He was greeted in Heaven by his son, Ronald Rawson and daughter, Kathy Rawson. He is survived by his sons, Kevin Rawson of Georgia, Billy L. (Diana) Rawson Jr. of Canton; grandchildren, Amber Rawson of Canton, Kelli Luper and Andrew Gillmore of Canton, Bradley and Maria Roberts of Little America, Daniell Rawson of Canton and Casey Rawson of Canton; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Connie) Rawson of Pekin; sisters, Carol (Glen) Johnston of Glasford, Patty (Kevin) O’Cull of Southern IL and several nieces and nephews. Bill was Governor of the Moose Lodge 784. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge of East Peoria and Bethesda Pentecostal Church of God in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded. The family will have a gathering on Saturday, March 12th at A.F.S.M.E. Union Hall 1016 W. Locust, Canton, IL 61520 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice in Bill Rawson’s name.
