Obituary for Bob (Pops) Helmig
Bob “Pops” Helmig, 79, of Creve Coeur passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:30 a.m. He was a lifelong carpenter and avid fisherman. He was a member of Bradley Epworth Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. He is survived by four sons; three daughters; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Bradley Epworth Christian Church located at 1316 Columbia Terrace in Peoria on Saturday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bradley Epworth Church. “I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. When it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord’s great net, peacefully asleep and in His great mercy-may he judge me big enough to keep.”
