Obituary for Bonnie Mendez
Bonnie L. Sayers Mendez, 62, of Peoria passed away peacefully surrounded by her three daughters; their father, Joseph Lunini Jr. and her grandchildren on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born January 24, 1956 in Pekin to Lawrence and Norma Gardner Sayers. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Amanda (Manuel) Arias Cruz, Katherine (Cesar) Gonzalez, Bonnie Joe (Eduardo Ruan) Sayers-Lunini; seven grandchildren; sisters, Lee Valarie Hyatt, Lee Diane Marshall and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and spent many years as a health care provider. She loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and her dog, Bella. Bonnie was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to TAPS in her name.
