Obituary for Bonnie Powell
Bonnie K. Powell, aged 69, of Bartonville, Illinois passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Heartland Manor in Peoria after a short Illness. She was born January 8, 1946 to Frank and Alice Hall in Peoria, Illinois. She attended Manual High School. She retired from St. Francis Hospital after 47 years, having worked the last 28 years in the surgical department. Bonnie was known for visiting friends in the Hospital, stopping by their rooms every day. She loved old western movies, John Wayne and Elvis Presley. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville, Illinois. She is survived by her brother, Freddie Hall who made his home with her; her cat, Blackie, and her brother, Lester (Sue) Hall of Washington, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; two sisters and her husband, Kenny Powell. Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2-5 pm at the Legion, 4501 Airport Rd, Bartonville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 979 or Friends Of Bartonville Volunteer Fire Department And Rescue Squad,1503 West Garfield Avenue, Bartonville, IL 61607.
