Obituary for Brad Fisher
Brad Scott Fisher, 52, of Canton died at 2:46 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at OSF Hospital in Peoria. Born July 18, 1962, in Canton to Paul R. and Frances J. (Thompson) Fisher, he married Carla Lannery on July 3, 1987, in Lewistown. She survives. Also surviving are four brothers, Barry (Laura) Fisher of Ellisville, Brian (JoEllen) Fisher of Mendota, Bruce (Sherry) Fisher of Canton, and Brent (Laura) Fisher of Silvis. Also surviving is his mother, Frances Fisher. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fisher. He grew up on the family farm raising chickens, sheep, and cattle. He was a member of the Fairview Huskies 4-H Club and showed livestock at local fairs. He graduated from Valley High School in 1980 and placed 2nd in the heavy weight class at the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament. He graduated from the Automotive Technologies program at Spoon River College in 1982. He worked on the family farm, Ellisville Garage, Fisher’s Service Station, Mike Ehens Hog Farm, and Keister’s Tire and Battery. He became disabled in 2005 and spent most of his time surfing the web and keeping in contact with classmates, family, and friends. He loved his cat “Tiger”. He spent the last few years making replicas of his McComb house and barns on the family farm. A celebration of life will be at the family farm this Saturday, October 18th from 5:30 to 9:00 PM during the Annual Fisher Family Community Weiner Roast. He loved this annual Fisher Neighborhood Weiner Roast and would want his family and friends to gather to remember him.
