Obituary for C. Paul Tyree
C. Paul “Sonny” Tyree 82 of Creve Coeur passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at his home. Born in East Peoria on March 2, 1929 to Cecil and Harriet Ferry Tyree. He married Carol Webb in Bloomington on November 14, 1951. She survives along daughter: Christine (Coleman Moss) Tyree of Burbank, CA, her children; Stacey (James) Petkus of Spokane, WA, Robert (Gaia) Cannaday of Ojai, CA and Roberts kids; Calder Tyree Cannaday and Magnolia Leah May Cannaday, son Dennie Lee (Francis) Tyree of CA and his kids; Aaron and Jessee Tyree, daughter Crystel (Randy Lee) Whitehurst of Creve Coeur and son James (Amber) Whitehurst of Galesburg, his children; Zion Whitehurst, Austin Johnston, Adrianna Johnston, Devon Johnston, Jordan Fulkerson, Jaxon Fulkerson, Draven Crosswhite and Logan Whitehurst, son Kim Tyree of East Peoria and his kids; Jacob Tyree of Peoria and Beth (Dale) Lewis of Bartow, FL,  and her children Christina and Tyler, and daughter Wynete Tyree of East Peoria and her daughter Ashley (Jesse Szkaradek) Nerud of East Peoria and her kids; Alexis Berry of Washington, Bryan Szkaradek of East Peoria and Anastacia Szkaradek of East Peoria. His parents and step-mother Edna Stahl preceded him in death. Paul severed in the Navy and was a Professional Ballroom Dancer owning 3 locations of Danso-Teck/PDI Personal Development Institutes, retiring in 1990. He loved to Ice Skate and loved Archery, winning many awards and was once ranked number one for his age class in Archery in the state of Illinois. He helped establish the Pekin Archery Range and helped Bill Rudolph improve the Chillicothe Archery Range. He was a member of the Peoria and Peru Chambers of Commerce, Peoria Rotary and the Creve Coeur Club in Peoria. Paul was truly honored to have had the opportunity to dance the Venetian Waltz with his daughter Wynete on stage at the Northwoods Community Church’s Millennium celebration. Cremation has been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
