Obituary for Carl Peters
Carl Conrad Peters, 85, of Pekin passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at UnityPoint Health Pekin. He was born January 16, 1934 in Pekin to William and Bertha Gilmore Peters. He married Benigna Trujillo; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Alex (Faith) Peters of Green Valley, Shirley Bonnom of Pekin, Laura Medlin of Pekin, Steven (Denise) Peters of Farmington; grandchildren, Sarah Sutton, Matthew Medlin, Joshua Medlin, Atlanta Bonnom, Merry Peters, Aaron Peters, Saige Peters; four great-grandchildren and siblings, Margaret (Robert) Lyons of Chicago and Lavina (Chuck) Swanger of Pekin. His parents; sisters, Lara Folsom, Bertha Folsom and brother, Cecil preceded him in death. Carl served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Caterpillar. Carl was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one-hour prior at the church. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin with Military Honors. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Vincent De Paul food pantry in his name.
