Obituary for Carl "C.J." Pettijohn Jr.
Carl “C.J.” Pettijohn Jr., 24, of Manito passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Tazewell County after a struggle with depression. He was born March 21, 1993 in Peoria to Carl Pettijohn Sr. and Melissa Carter. He married Amanda Sassman March 21, 2014 in Pekin; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Emily Pettijohn, Rowan Pettijohn, Tommy Pettijohn; father, Carl (Janessa) Pettijohn Sr.; grandparents, Steve and Shirley Pettijohn; sisters, Kayla McDonough, Alaina Pettijohn; brothers, Steven (Tyler) Yeater, Jimmy Pettijohn, Brandon Pettijohn, Chandler Pettijohn, Tyler Cassidy and aunt, Kim (Chad) Fisher. His mother, Melissa Moynihan preceded him in death. “C.J.” was a 2011 graduate of Midwest Central High School in Manito. He worked for Ginger Asian Bistro in Pekin. He loved art, music, food and his family especially his wife and children. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Olde Towne Bar & Grill in Delavan.
