Carl E. McMeen (The Old Man) 75, of rural Glasford passed away on Wednesday January 12, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in rural Trivoli April 2, 1935. The son of Guy E. and Rose J. Kauzlarich McMeen. He married Margaret (Maggie) L. White on February 5, 1955. She survives along with one son Michael E. and three daughters Catherine Louise, Gloria Rae (Mark) and Teresa Marie, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two nieces, one great niece and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, twin grandsons and two nephews. Carl was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA). He was an avid motorcyclist. He participated in several enduros; however hill climbing was his passion. He was known for his mechanical skills. He could always be found in his garage. He built stock cars and worked in the pit crew at the Peoria Speedway. He never knew a stranger. He loved to travel with his wife Maggie in their motor home. He was a great Daddy to his children and a great role model to his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.  Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Mass will be held Friday January 21, 2011 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church at 139 E. Chestnut Street in Canton at 10:30 am. The family would also like to invite all of Carl’s extended family and all of his friends to join them at 11:30 am for a luncheon to be held in the Parish Hall immediately following the Mass. There will also be a Celebration of Life to be held on Carl’s birthday April 2, 2011. Time and location to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorial contributions be made in Carl’s honor to “Cherish Every Moment” – The Dax Loche Foundation.
