Obituary for Carol Johnson
Carol P. Johnson, 82, of Pekin passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Hallmark House Nursing Home in Pekin. She was born September 2, 1935 in Pekin to Carl and Agnes Sipka VonBoeckman. She married Henry R. Johnson on September 22, 1951; he preceded her in death November 11, 1991. Her parents; siblings, Carl VonBoeckman Jr., Jim VonBoeckman, Julie Mitchell, Bud VonBoeckman and grandchildren, Andy Gardner and Amy Worlow also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Deb (Art) Kunz, Diana (Bill) Weichel, Donna Kenny; grandchildren, Art III, James, Terri, Bill Jr., Melinda, Kaleigh, Tia; fifteen great-grandchildren and sister, Louise Ronvich. Carol graduated from Pekin Community High School. She was an avid bowler and St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. She loved fishing, spending time in Minnesota but most of all she loved her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation at Abts Mortuary from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to mass. Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her name.
