Obituary for Christine Rettig
Christine M. Rettig 60, of Peoria passed away Monday August 16, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1949 to Walter and Fern Frazer Rettig in Blue Island, IL. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her significant other; Richard Oaks of Peoria, children; Bill (Sandra) Shipley of Groveland, Melissa Thomas of Lewisville, TX, grandchildren; Michael, Darick, and Alyssa of Peoria, Ashton, and Arielle of Phoenix, AZ and Owen of Groveland. She is also survived by her sister; Kitty (Dave) Pickerill of East Peoria, brother; Steve (Patty) Rettig of Peoria and several nieces, nephews, ect. in the central IL area. Christine was a fun-loving spirit in her youth. She enjoyed theatre and was previously involved with the Peoria Players. She was an avid Bears fan. She enjoyed reading, politics, learning about the judiciary system, and keeping up with current events. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 28, 2010 at 10am at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Morton. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co.
