Christopher “Butch” R.C. Jording, 47, of Pekin, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Born on September 24, 1977, in Peoria, Butch was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his children: Kaylynn Jording, Aren Jording, Olivia Ranstead, and Michael Jording; his parents, Vickie and Robert Emmer; his siblings: Joy (Allan) Havlin, Heather Jording, Tracy (Kenneth) Jording, and Victoria (Tyler Hinton) Emmer; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also remembered by his former spouse, Bonnie Meinders, and his companion, Tiffany Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a nephew Michael, his aunt Dee, and his uncle Bob.
Butch will be remembered for his love of family, his easygoing spirit, and his enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures—especially sharing a beer around a bonfire with those he loved. Butch will be missed deeply for his big bear hugs, his beaming voice and outgoing personality.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
