Obituary for Cindy Bohannan
Cindy Lou Bohannan, 67, of Dunlap passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born September 12, 1947 in Peoria to Floyd Carl and Dora Louise Suter Wooden. She married Lonnie Lee Bohannan February 9, 1980. He survives along with her sister, Deborah Isbell of Hanna City; daughters, Amber (Ted) McLaughlin of Chillicothe, Nichole (Manny) Alvarez of Peoria; son, Jeffrey Thornton of Chillicothe; step-sons, Terry Bohannan of Sparland, Keith Bohannan of Sparland; aunt, Maxine Wooden of Peoria; sister-in-law, Vicky Bush of Dunlap; grandchildren, Chase, Alexis, Charlie, Jessie, Sophia, Bianca, Josie; many nieces and nephews and a special mention for an almost inherited daughter, Sara McElroy of Champaign. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dora Wooden; aunt, Thelma Kellenberger; uncles, John Wooden, Kelley Kellenberger; brother, Richard James Wooden; brother-in-laws, Merlin R. Isbell, Gene Bush; niece, Janel K. Isbell and son-in-laws brother, Noe Alvarez Hernandez. Our mother loved all four legged furry animals. She had many pets over the course of her life both past and present. She was of Lutheran faith. She was a homemaker, did many crafts and traveled to craft shows showing off her and our father’s wood-working talents. She held numerous jobs over the course of her life, but what she loved to do was spending time at home, working in her yard and enjoying her animals that she took in as strays. She loved them all equally and enjoyed retirement with our dad very much. The last couple of years have been very difficult but she kept a positive attitude and was very strong throughout the whole process. We are very proud of you mom. We hope you are happy and healthy now. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to PAWS, TAPS or donor’s choice.
