Obituary for Claudette "DeDe" Waters
Claudette "DeDe" Waters, 85, a life-long resident of Peoria, passed June 17th, in the comfort of her home. She was born in 1932 in Peoria, Illinois to Claude and Edith Kitchell. DeDe met and married Clifton Dale Waters and spent a wonderful 55 years together. They lived in Germany while Dale was serving in the Army and eventually made their forever home in Peoria.
DeDe was an Elementary School teacher and later became a secretary for Dale’s life insurance business. She and Dale loved to travel the world together, and in her past time, she enjoyed cooking, working with stained glass, gardening and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Proceeded in death by her husband, Dale, mother, father, and brother, James Kitchell. She is survived by two children- Ellen (Steven) Slack of Manito IL, James (Susanne) Waters of San Antonio TX, two grand-children- Randy (Terra) Stookey of Pekin IL, and Clifton Waters of San Antonio TX, and one great grandchild- Elliana Stookey.
Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
