D. Eileen Bingham, 102, of Pekin passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2024, at her residence.
Eileen was born January 26, 1922, in Kingston Mines to Carl and Sarah "Girlie" McCune Gollon.
She married Donald Bingham on June 14, 1947. He preceded her in death April 30, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Margery Gollon and brother, James "Bud" Gollon.
Her children, Michael (Tracy) Bingham and Patrick (Jill) Bingham survive along with grandsons, Andrew (Preeti) Bingham and Peter (Kaylah) Bingham as well as two step grandchildren, Sarah (Zach) Wyant and Ryan (Hilary) McEvoy of Peoria. Eileen also has two great grandsons, Kailash and Surya of New York. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Eileen was a very active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, working in the cafeteria, as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and as a lay minister visiting the sick administering communion.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Micheal Andrejek will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in her name.
