Obituary for Danette Smith
Danette Podawiltz Doi Smith 66, of Peoria passed away Sunday March 13, 2011 at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital. She was born January 15, 1945 to Dan and Margaret Williams Fiant in Connersville, IN. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter; Tracy (Matt) Podawiltz Freeman of Normal, IL, 2 sons; Daniel Podawiltz of Rockledge, FL and Kirk Podawiltz of Palo Alto, CA. She is also survived by 1 brother; Ruell Fiant of Indianapolis, IN and 2 granddaughters; Natalie and Danielle Freeman. She worked for GTE Directories and she was trained as a substance abuse counselor. Danette was known for her outgoing personality, and ability to build and maintain friendships. She has touched many lives and will be remembered fondly. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to your local humane society.
