Obituary for Daniel Maubach
Daniel R. Maubach, 57, of Peoria passed away at 5:37 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Born March 15, 1958, in Peoria to Russell R. and Ruth M. (Klepfer) Maubach, both preceded him in death, as did a sister, Mariann R. Maubach, and a brother, Tony Reinhart. Dan is survived by adopted and birth siblings, whom he chose to bring together as his family. Bob (Debbie) Maubach of Hartsville, TN, Cindy (Jim) Simmons of Peoria, John (Becky) Maubach of Elizabeth, CO, Lisa Maubach of Peoria, Mary (Don) LaMaster of North Port, FL, Roberta (Mike) Hoch of Sadorus, IL, John Reinhart of Pendelton, OR, and Angie (Jim) Stone of Peoria. Several nephews, nieces and cousins survive as well. Dan attended St. Mark’s, Hines & Richwoods High School in Peoria. He earned a Certificate in Addiction Counseling from Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies in MN. He worked for CASA in Peoria, Betty Ford Addiction Center in CA, mined gold in NV & was an over-the-road truck driver for several years. Dan loved motorcycles, nature & outdoors. He played many instruments including violin, banjo, piano & guitar and was known as “Guitar Dan” & “Skippy Joe Bob” to many. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at St. Marks Catholic Church in Peoria with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Geoffrey Horton will officiate.
