Obituary for Diane Mumm
Diane Wilson Mumm, 58, of Mackinaw, Illinois passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 7:12 am at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 26, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to David and Hazel Wilson. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, David Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Merlyn Mumm; her two children, Jeremy (Elaine) Meritt and Jenny (Dave) Peterson; 2 step children, Jeff Mumm and Kellie Mumm; her brothers, Don Wilson, Frank Wilson, Willie Wilson; her sisters, Rose Farris, Bibbie Osborn, Patty Wilson; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and her foster parents. Diane graduated from Morton High School and was employed by Central Illinois Light Company. She attended Mackinaw Christian Church. She loved butterflies, growing flowers, taking tons of pictures, especially of her family and grandkids, cooking and her canine companion, Dixie. She also enjoyed donating to many different charities that helped animals, wounded veterans, starving children and Native American educational charities. Over the years she took care of multiple elderly people who had lost their families and just needed a little extra help with cooking or errands. Cremation has been accorded and a reception/celebration of life will be held at the Tremont American Legion on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from noon to 3 p.m.
