Obituary for Donald Boldt
Donald C. Boldt, 76, of Pekin, IL passed away Wednesday March 21, 2012 at Timbercreek Rehab in Pekin, IL. He was born November 4, 1935 in Pekin, IL to Charles and Myrtle Duttarer Boldt. He married Doris J. Timke August 24, 1958 in Pekin, IL. She survives along with his children, Darren (Holly) Boldt of Ishpeming, MI, Angela (Steve) Martiens of Tremont, IL; grandchildren, Tressa, Kelsey, Matthew, Emily, Erin, Sean; siblings, Jack Sharp of Mapleton, IL, Charlene King of Pekin, IL and Dennis Boldt of Camp Verde, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brothers, Gerald, Richard and infant son, Donerio. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at American Distillery in Pekin, IL and Lonza Chemical Co. in Mapleton, IL retiring in January 1998. He was the past president of OCAW (Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers) and a member of L.E.R.T. (Lonza Emergency Response Team). He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tremont, IL. He loved his family, attending his grandchildren’s activities and his dog Maggie. He enjoyed making birdhouses and was a longtime Bradley Basketball fan. A funeral service will be held at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL Saturday March 24, 2012 at Noon with visitation two hours prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, IL. Memorials may be made to Pekin Quarterback Club or Alzheimer’s Association in his name.
