Obituary for Donald (Butch) Crandell Jr.
Donald E. “Butch” Crandell Jr., 55, of North Pekin passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. He was born March 9, 1958 in Gardner, KS to Donald and Beverly Jones Crandell Sr. He married Bonnie McClister June 23 1983 in Tazewell County, IL and later on June 3, 2011 in Bell County, TX. She survives along with his mother, Beverly Smith of Tacoma, WA; children, Christopher Crandell of Pekin, Joshua (Nicole) Crandell of Crane, TX, Tracy Williams of Peoria, Patrick (Cynthia) Crandell of Crane, TX, Blain Crandell of Bloomington; twelve grandchildren; sister, Jane (Bill) Ozuna of Encinitas, CA; brothers, Robert Crandell of East Peoria, Daniel (Marie) Crandell of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew, David (Mary) Thurman of East Peoria and five dogs, Sparkett, Runtly, Fred Bear, Justice and Billy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents including his special grandmother, Arlene Crandell; father; brother, Ronald Crandell and grandson, Christopher Crandell Jr. Butch served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a self employed home improvement installer for 35 years last working July 14, 2013. He was a lifelong bowler and loved to go fishing with his wife. He loved his kids with everything he had. He never met a stranger. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Marquette Heights at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family to help with expenses incurred during his illness.
