Donald J. Boyette, 58, of Pekin passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Pekin Hospital. He was born October 23, 1954 in Jacksonville, FL to James and Thelma Ward Boyette. He married Patricia Haun May 11, 1973 in Jacksonville, FL. She survives along with his children, Mandi E. (Roger) Smith of South Pekin, Donnie J. Boyette of South Pekin, Cheri A. Boyette of South Pekin; grandchildren, Trinity K. Rose, Delaney N. Boyette, Dalton J. Boyette, Weston S. Smith; sisters, Marty Williams Tomlinson of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy (Steve) Boyette Cleary of Jacksonville, FL; aunt, Claudie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and grandson Gavin preceded him in death. Donald was career military and retired as a disabled Army Veteran in September of 1992. His greatest loves were his children and grandchildren. He loved animals, enjoyed hunting and fishing in Alaska. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Sunday January 20

at 3:30 p.m. at Abts Mortuary with visitation starting at 2p.m. Burial of cremains will be in Jacksonville National Veterans Cemetery in FL at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to T.A.P.S. animal shelter in Pekin.
