Donald L. Bandeko, Sr. 80 of West Peoria died June 20, 2016 at Heddington Oaks Nursing Home. Born in Creve Coeur to William and Dorothy Neff Bandeko on Sept 4, 1935. He is survived by his children: Kathy (Danny) Proffitt, Donna Vonderheide, honorary daughter, Karol Isbell, sisters Emma Lou Kindred, Betty Jane Updike, brother Robert (Shirley) Bandeko, grandchildren Benjamin (Angela) Vonderheide, Beau (Cassandra) Vonderheide, Jacob Donald Vonderheide, Brandy (Caleb) Vonderheide-Lumpkin, 6 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces that he loved to pieces. He was prceded in death by his parents, son Donald L. Jr. grandson Caleb Vonderheide, great grandson Ezekyel Donald Vonderheide, sisters Ada Francis Stamm, Dorothy Jean Karrick and brothers Raymond and Billy Bandeko Jr. Donald served in the U.S. Navy, worked at Caterpillar and then Sears as a Watch Repairman. He was past President of AMVETS #169 in Pekin and loved fishing and mushroom hunting. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to TAPS in his name. Cremation has been accorded and services will be held at a later date
