Obituary for Donald R. Bingham
Donald R. Bingham 83, of Pekin passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Pekin on April 5, 1925 to Eugene and Gertrude Thomas Bingham. He married D. Eileen Gollon in Pekin on June 14, 1947, she survives along with his sons; Michael (Tracey) of Metamora, Patrick (Jill) of St. Peters, MO, grandsons; Andrew and Peter Bingham, step-grandchildren Ryan (Courtney) McEvoy and Sarah (Eric) Simkins sister Jesse Jirak of East Peoria and several nieces and nephews. His parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters preceded him in death. Donald served in the Air Force during WWII and worked for Centel Phone Co. for 38 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Moose, St. Joseph Mission Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held on Saturday at noon. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at Abts Mortuary.
