Obituary for Donald Weidman
Donald P. Weidman, 66, of Morton, Illinois died at 10:38 am on Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was born, June 13, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois to Paul and Virginia “Gina” Wulz Weidman. He married Carol Force February 12, 1966 in Monticello, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; mother, Virginia and brother, Rusty. He is survived by his wife, Carol Force Weidman; son, Brent Weidman (Kim Sharp); son, Neal Weidman; daughter, Jean O’Brien (Rick), daughter, Kim Weidman (Travis Cornwell), 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Don began his career as a mechanic and worked at Bob Grimm Chevrolet. Don retired from Caterpillar and was a proud and devout UAW member. He was a member of Bass Masters and former president of Monocoeur Bass Fishing Club. He was an avid fisherman who passed on this love to his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and friends and was well respected by all who knew him. In accordance with Don’s wishes cremation has been accorded and there will be no funeral services but the family welcomes visitors to celebrate Don’s life at their residence at 216 Beverly Ave., Morton, IL 61550 on November 17th from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the giver’s charity of choice.
