Obituary for Donna Dolen
Donna R. Dolen, 80, of Pekin passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on Friday, October 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 27, 1935 in Mason County to Jesse and Mabel Courtney Callaway. She married Duane A. Dolen May 3, 1953 in Manito. He preceded her in death December 1, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Null; parents; twin sister, Lorna Taylor and brothers, Kenneth Callaway, Amos Callaway, Leonard Callaway and Cleatis Callaway. She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Terry) Howell of Pekin, Kathy Davis Richardson of Pekin, Nancy Hewell of Pekin; grandchildren, Diana (Richard) Schmitt of Pekin, Ryan (Holly) Howell of Metamora, Michael Null of Pekin, Sarah Hewell of Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and brother-in-law, James (Charmain) Dolen of Tremont. Donna worked for Estabrook Dry Cleaning for many years. She loved to bowl in her younger years. She also loved country music and cooking. Her favorite pastime was to read cookbooks. She will be greatly missed. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to TAPS in her name. The family would like to give a special thanks to OSF Hospice for their care.
