Obituary for Dorothy Goett
Dorothy L. Goett, 87, of Peoria Heights passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1928 in Middletown to David and Minnie Bates Case. She married James Goett. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jay Lentz; brothers, George and Carrol and sister, Helen. She is survived by her sons, Garry (Brenda) Goett of Trivoli, Kevin Goett of Peoria Heights; daughters, Teresa (Hank) Zilm of Toluca, Maureen Lentz (Chuck Holz) of Toluca; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sam Staples for coming back into their mom’s life and for all his care and compassion. Dorothy worked at Sears. She was an avid gardener, cook and loved spending time with family and friends. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial mass will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Peoria Heights Ambulance, Wounded Warriors or St. Thomas Catholic Church in her name.
