Obituary for Dorothy Pratt
Dorothy June Pratt 77, of Pekin passed away on August 27, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born on September 30, 1931 in Peoria, the daughter of Robert D. and Dorothy R. Beal Marlatt. She married Donald H. Schubert of Morton in November of 1951. She later married Jack N. Pratt of Pekin, who preceded her in death in 1985. Also proceeding were her parents and loving daughter Diane M. Freeman in May of 1988. She is survived by her son Daniel M. (Patricia) Schubert of Pekin, brother Robert D. (Rhonda) Marlatt of Minier, grandchildren; Brett (Andrea) Freeman of Marquette Heights, Jill (Tim) Heaton and Danielle Schubert both of Pekin and her 6 great grandchildren. Dorothy graduated from Woodruff High School and worked as an Office Manager for Verkler GMC Trucks Sales and then Doering Truck Parts both of Peoria for many years, retiring in 1982. She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House and helped take her elderly neighbors to their appointments. She really enjoyed playing cards, reading, traveling and shopping. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a memorial mass will be held on Saturday August 29, at 11 a.m. Father David Whiteside will officiate and burial of cremains will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials can be made to the Mayo Clinic for Brain Research. Abts Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
