Obituary for Duane Dolen
Duane A. Dolen, 81, of Pekin passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Pekin Hospital. He was born November 15, 1933 in Pekin to Wayne and Rena Reuling Dolen. He married Donna Callaway May 3, 1953 in Manito. She survives along with his daughters, Becky (Terry) Howell of Pekin, Kathy Davis Richardson of Pekin, Nancy Hewell of Pekin; grandchildren, Diana (Richard) Schmidt of Pekin, Ryan (Holly) Howell of Metamora, Michael Null of Pekin, Sarah Hewell of Georgia; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas Null and brother, Charles Dolen. Duane worked for Keystone, retiring in 1996. He loved fishing, boating, traveling and riding his three-wheeler. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation and private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to TAPS in his name.
