Obituary for Dwayne Newton Bishop
Dwayne Newton Bishop 87, of Canton passed away on Sunday January 4, 2009 at Graham Hospital in Canton. Born in Lewistown on September 18, 1921 to Curtis and Jenny Strode Bishop. He is survived by his children; Carolyn (Gerald) Bleut of San Antonio, TX, Larry Bishop of Tampa, FL, sister Catherine “Dottie” Sebree of Canton and his 5 grand, 8 great grand and 1 great great grandchild. His son James D. Bishop preceded him in death in 1976. Dwayne was a self-employed Contractor, retiring in 1976. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday January 10, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Pastor Greg Ogle will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
