Obituary for E. Bernadine Roach
E. Bernadine Roach “Aunt B” 92, of Lutheran Hillside Village Peoria, died Tuesday April 7, 2009 at Proctor Hospital. She was born to Rev. Oscar F. Jones and Cora Alzina McConnell in Bondville, IL. She married George E. Roach on December 4, 1942, in Inglewood, CA. He died July of 2004. Also preceded in death were Paul and Philip Jones, her brothers. Surviving are son, Steve and daughter, Kathy (James) Frost, grandchildren; Shannon Roach, Andrew Frost, Stephen Roach, Julie Godsill and Laura Morse, three great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. A graduate of MacMurray College and Bradley University, she taught 32 years, the last 25 at Woodruff High School. She was an active member of University United Methodist Church, Retired Teachers Assoc, Musicians’ Union, and Women of Woodruff. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at University United Methodist Church on Saturday April 11, at 11 a.m. with visitation two hours before the service. Memorials may be made to her Church or the MS Society. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
