Obituary for Edward Lyn Morrison
Edward Lyn Morrison, 80, of Pekin passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Villas of Holly Brook & Reflections in Pekin.

He was born February 13, 1941, in Birkenhead, England to Albert Edward and Elizabeth Honor Frances Mills Morrison.

He married Vivian Lynn Cornish on July 18, 1964, at St. Mary’s Church in Sileby, England. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years; his parents and grandson, John Duchardt.

He is survived by his children, Ian (Andrea) Morrison of Pekin, Julie (Tom) Svendsen of Pekin, Gary (Teresa) Morrison of Pekin, Michael Morrison of Macomb, David (Jami) Morrison of Pekin; grandchildren, Jacqueline, Gina, Lucas Morrison, Tommy and Erica Svendsen, Brianna and Bailey Morrison, Jessica (Trever) Taylor, Kaitlyn Morrison, Heather Duchardt; great-granddaughters, Serenity Duchardt, Jocelyn Taylor; cousin, Bernard Hives; brother, Andrew Morrison and many nieces and nephews all of England.

Edward immigrated to America with his wife and two oldest children on May 27, 1968. He was proud to be a naturalized US Citizen.

Edward attended night college and received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Loughborough College. He did his apprenticeship with Cross & Sampson; he was a Patternmaker Engineer. He worked for Caterpillar in Mapleton for 35 years.

Edward loved all things mechanical, engines and steam locomotives. He also loved traveling with his family, pool parties, cookouts, and his Scottish Terriers.

The family is grateful for Transitions Hospice, especially Laura Minor who compassionately cared for him.

A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Pekin.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude in his name.
