Obituary for Elizabeth Bette McCoy
Elizabeth G “Bette” McCoy, 81 of 319 W Fremont St, Elmwood, IL passed away at 7:45 A.M. on Thursday Aug 2, 2012 at Farmington Country Manor.
Bette was born on March 23, 1931 in Moline, IL. She was the daughter of Joe and Nina Threw Howard. She married Frederick D McCoy on May 28, 1949.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Larry(Janet) Howard of Morton, IL and one sister, MaryLou (Ellery) King of Elmwood, IL. Bette is survived. By 2 brothers, Hap (Nancy) Howard of Elmwood, IL; Bruce Howard of Elmwood, IL ; a sister Linda (Wayne) Kersh of Farmington, IL and her 5 children, Alan (Suzanne Boynton) McCoy, Glasford, IL ; Valerie (Randy) Blodgett, Yates City, IL; Julia (Tom) Shissler,Elmwood, IL ; Jill (Jim) Fries, Seabrook, Tx; Jody (Todd) Werneburg, Hanna City, IL, 18 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Bette babysat for many area children and also worked at WildLife Prairie Park. She later worked in the home healthcare profession, last being an Activity Director at Farmington Country Manor.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Elmwood, IL on Aug 11,2012 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elmwood Fire Department.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Renal Dept. of Graham Hospital, Harbor Lights Hospice and Farmington Country Manor
