Obituary for Enis DuPage
Enis V. DuPage, 93, of Pekin passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Hallmark House in Pekin. She was born May 13, 1923 in Pekin to Louis and Antonia Canducci Baldi. She married Charles L. DuPage April 26, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin; he preceded her in death August 8, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Antonia Young, Marcia Dyer; parents and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Tamra “Tammy” (Michael) Williams of Pekin; grandchildren, Quinn McCormick, Charla Tabet, Cole (Jessie) Williams, Mallory (Brian) Towne; great-grandchildren, Eric Towne, Michael Towne, Samantha McCormick and numerous nieces and nephews. Enis was a graduate from Pekin Community High School, Class of 1941. She worked for American Distillery for 30 years, retiring in 1980. After marrying Charles, Enis threw her energies into raising their three daughters. When she and Charles retired, Enis concentrated on spoiling her grandchildren. Her door was always open. She enjoyed late-night TV, a good game of cards, and a full social calendar. She also never missed her favorite soaps or a chance to watch the WORLD CHAMPION CHICAGO CUBS. Above all, Enis loved being around people. As someone who never met a stranger, her presence will be missed by all. Today, an angel on Earth was called back home and as she always did down here, Nona threw on her new dress, put on her jewelry, poured half a smile and said, “Salut.” She was a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where a Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church or the Miller Senior Center Transportation 551 S. 14th Street Pekin, IL 61554 in her name.
