Obituary for Esther Kegel
Esther Fern (Galloway) Kegel, age 79, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born May 25, 1936, in Peoria, Illinois, to Marion L. and Beulah (Copeland) Galloway. She married Wilhelm F. Kegel on May 22, 1971, in Peoria. He passed away October 1, 2003, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Ursula (Kegel) Thomas. Survivors include one sister, Marilyn (William) Buster of East Peoria; one nephew, Curtis (Cheryl) Buster of Chillicothe and one niece, Michele (Randy) Fogt of Reinbeck, Iowa; and two step-grandchildren, William (Theresa) Thomas of Burke, Virginia, and Johnny Thomas of United Arab Emirates and four step-great-grandchildren. Esther enjoyed playing bingo and bunco and participating in the Seniors Club activities through the Fon du Lac Park District. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday December 18, 2015, at First Baptist Church of East Peoria. Pastor Cheri Grizzard will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the services. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS), 100 TAPS Lane , Pekin, IL 61554 or the Fon du Lac Park District Senior’s Program, 201 Veterans Drive, East Peoria, IL 61611.
