Florence Ruth Rench of Morton passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Friday, June 3, 2016. Ruth was born March 16, 1930 in Farmington, Illinois to the late Clyde and Annie Pearl (Williams) Barley above her parents’ bakery. She married Delmer Leroy Rench (her “Darling Del”) on January 8, 1950. He preceded her in death July 26, 1993. Three nephews also preceded her in death. Ruth is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Lynn of Morton, Juliann Lee (Kevin) Matthews of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Kathryn Dollye Hirtzer of Chicago; five grandchildren, Pamela, Amy Rachel, Gary, Brian and Kristen; three great grandchildren, Shayanne, Shale and Blair (Kevin); brother, Richard (Evie) Barley; sister, Betty Anne (Gene) Nelson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1948 and attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville. Ruth retired from Kmart as a District Manager in 1990. Ruth loved spending time with her family and traveling the world. She especially enjoyed her four trips to Africa. She was blessed to have the most amazing caregivers, Jodie, Sue, Victoria and Wayoka. A special thank you to Laura from UnityPoint Hospice for her assistance during Ruth’s last days at home. Ruth blessed her family and friends by staying with us long enough to allow everyone to tell her what she had meant to them. Per Ruth’s request there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to EPIC (1913 Townline Road, Peoria, IL 61615), Easter Seals (320 E. Armstrong Ave. Peoria, IL 61603) or the National Alliance for Mental Illness (P.O. Box 10167, Peoria, IL 61612).
