Obituary for Garry Lee Barnes
Garry Lee Barnes, 72, of Manito, IL fell asleep in death on Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home.
He was born on June 8, 1953, in Peoria, IL to Russell and Mable Caulkins Barnes.
Garry married Deborah Sanders; she preceded him in death on July 13, 1995. His parents; brother, Russell Barnes Jr and brother-in-law, Dean Bale also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Levi (Elizabeth) Barnes; grandchildren, Khloe Patterson, Averie Barnes, Dylan Sampson, Michael Sampson, Madilyn Barnes and sister, Marilyn Bale.
Garry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He worked for Caterpillar. Garry loved working on cars when he was not at work.
The family had a private visitation at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pekin, IL.
There will be a celebration of life held later in the spring, weather permitting.
