Gayle A. Canada, 71, of North Pekin passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on July 23, 1954, in Pekin to George and Wilhelmina Kath Frevert.
Gayle married Michael C. Canada on January 6, 1973, in Delavan; he preceded her in death February 17, 2016. Her parents and brother, Steve Frevert also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Devon Canada; daughter, Sabrina Canada; siblings, Art (Joan) Frevert, Frank (Nancy) Frevert, Dave (Marty) Frevert, Diane (Bob) Pfeiffer and many nieces and nephews.
Gayle worked for North Pekin and Marquette Heights school district as a cook until retiring in 2008.
She loved cooking and feeding others. Gayle enjoyed reading.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Private family burial will be held.
