Obituary for Georgie Lindsey
Georgie B. Lindsey 77, of Pekin passed away on July 9, 2010 at Pekin Hospital. Born in Kilbourne, IL on December 7, 1932 to Don and Dorothy Edwards Griffin. She married John Gillespie in Canton on November 23, 1950, he passed away on January 21, 1972. She then married Leslie Lindsey in East Peoria on October 10, 1975, he passed away on November 2, 1995. Her parents, son David, and sister Donna Horner also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children: Rich (Barbara) Gillespie, Linda (James) Stanley and Pam Long, step-son Terry (Cathy) Lindsey and her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Georgie worked as a Postal Clerk at the East Peoria Post Office, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Abbas Caldron #49 in East Peoria and the First Christian Church in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Sunday July 25, at 2 p.m. at the UAW Senior Citizens Center in Pekin. Jerry Rupp and Mike Roberts will officiate.
