Obituary for Helen Simpson
Helen V. Simpson 79, of Creve Coeur passed away on Thursday February 25, 2010 at OSF St. Clare Home. Helen was born April 12, 1930 in Peoria to William B. and Iola P. Harding. She married Jack Simpson on April 12, 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Jeffrey and Judd. Surviving are her sons: Jan (Cindy), Joel both of Peoria, Barry (Jamie) of East Peoria, Jordan (Nancy) of Washington, daughters: Julie (Lee) Richards of Peoria, Bonnie McMullen of East Peoria and Judy Connor of Belleville, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and her brother Kenneth (Nina) Harding of Tubac, AZ. Helen retired from Caterpillar in 1985 after 32 years. She loved to travel, do crossword puzzles and paint pictures. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her love of her grandchildren, her laugh and easy smile. Those who knew her will never forget her. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held today at noon at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen foundation and the American Heart Association. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
