Obituary for Henry Bergman
Henry Norbert Bergman, 95, of Pekin passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 in East Peoria. He was born April 3, 1918 in East Peoria to Henry and Kate Forter Bergman. He married Ann Curry October 26, 1940; she preceded him in death February 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Doan of Manito, Vickie (Fred) Masters of East Peoria; son, Gary (Karen) Bergman of Red Lion, PA; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as an operating engineer for Local 649. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post #1232 in Pekin, AMVETS Post #235 in Pekin and Moose Lodge in Pekin. He retired to Florida with his wife, he loved golfing, building birdhouses and gardening. He was always working on small engine repair. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice in his name.
