Obituary for Henry Smith
Henry A. Smith 80, of Tremont passed away Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Hopedale Hospital. He was born August 16, 1930 to Herman and Erna Foth Smith in Mapleton. He married Fay DeVine October 26, 2007 in Pekin. She survives along with his children; Jerry (Judy) Smith of Glasford, Randy (Melinda) Smith of Glasford, Larry (Barb) Smith of O’Fallon, MO, Linda (Joe) Duez of Peoria, Bonnie (Jerry) Schrodt of Canton, Gene (Michele) Smith of Pekin and Vicki (Karl) Larson of Peoria. Henry is also survived by 24 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. He served in the US Army and he owned and operated Hanks 66 in Groveland from November 1954 until his passing. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Sunday August 29, 2010 at his garage Hanks 66 at the junction of Rt. 98 and Springfield Road in Groveland with a potluck to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fay Smith.
