Obituary for Jack Cyril Barton
Jack Cyril Barton, age 78, of Peoria passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 in his sleep at 7:05 AM in his home. Jack was born on September 5, 1937 in Eldorado, IL. Surviving are his 2 daughters, 4 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Helen Lucile Barton Whistle and Cyril Richard Barton, sister Patricia Ann Barton, son Ross Windell Barton, and great grandson Cameron Thomas Mitchell. Jack was loved by many and was always willing to help another in need. He cared about a great many people throughout his life. He was a people person throughout his life and loved to make conversation. He has worked many jobs around Peoria such as a dental supply house, Pabst Blue Ribbon, US Postal Service, and running his own gas station B & K Marathon at the corner of Main St. & Western St. 1969-1977, while he was working at Caterpillar where he retired after 36 years of service as a truck repairmen. He loved nature and the value of privacy so he bought land in 1977. There he bought and sold various animals throughout his life that roamed the land for all the family and friends to enjoy. He spent a lot of his later years of retirement maintaining the land and helping out family. There will be no funeral service or visitation at this time.
